Milanese Figurines

11 March, 2016

The figures gracing these signs in Milan are rather charming and display a diversity of body shapes.  Some clever person vandalized a sign prohibiting vehicle access, adding extra legs and arms to recreate Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man.

The bottom figures, found on the Milan Metro, are even more curious.  The fellow with a cane has awfully broad shoulders and a narrow waist, much like a professional body builder.  The two folks holding onto the poles (well done!) have the strangest geometry.

Apologies for the poor quality photographs. These pictures were taken on a Blackberry in 2011, a time long long before phones had fancy cameras.
