This 12th Century plaque looks more like a groovy dance party than a Biblical scene between Jesus and Mary Magdalen. Despite his Saturday Night Fever pose, Jesus is in fact repulsing Mary Magdalen with the words “Noli me tangere [Do not touch me] for I have not yet ascended to the Father.” (John 20:11-17).
Thank goodness for those helpful captions on museum walls!

It is so good to hear from the Diligent Observer! She is moving about New York now, I believe.
