Magyar Monday: Blending In
28 January, 2013
The caption is worth a read: ‘Hortobagy Shepherd in His “Furs”. These fur coats are now in such demand by the armies in the field that Hungary and all the countries of Southeastern Europe have forbidden the further export of these skins.’
This being a National Geographic article from October 1914, ‘the armies’ would be those fighting in World War I.
They do look quite warm. A nice looking border collie at his feet!
Please recall ‘Sharing is Caring‘, a photographic before-and-after in the life of a sheep’s coat.
