Well, probably one of many rejections.
Gertrude Stein received this brilliant rejection from Arthur Fifield of the eponymous publisher. Not being a huge fan of Gertrude Stein, the Author is particularly tickled by this missive.

Well, if I hadn’t already read “Mrs. Dalloway” this rejection letter would certainly make me want to avoid a Gertrude Stein book. … But I did.
Mrs Dalloway was Virginia Woolf, which I must admit to enjoying.
However, I do recommend you avoid Three Women, which I was forced to read in a module at Uni.
