Bikers Welcome
Fishbach, Austria, is no Wrightsville, California*: Bikers are welcomed with open arms.
A few years ago, the Author relied on her poor German language skills to plan a ski holiday and ended up in a small Styrian town. With no rental shop and a ‘slope’ that made bunny hills look like double black diamonds, Fischbach could hardly be described as a ski destination. But it did have some very friendly inhabitants, including the hotel owner who lent his mother and grandmother’s skis, and the local priest, who offered the foreign travelers snuff and homemade schnapps. Perhaps a story for another post.

*the fictional town in The Wild One (directed by László Benedek!), which is terrorized by dreamy Marlon Brando and his cohort.
