Malmö, Sweden, has an alarmingly large stone wildlife population. Only the Natural History Museum in London rivals central Malmö for animal adorned fascades. The collection below is but a sampling of the variety of species featured throughout this somewhat charming, somewhat shady city.

Interesting how the sculpted animals range from quite realistic (horse), to a bit awkward (the squirrels) to sort of human looking (the monkeys) to very stylized (the owl). … Is Malmo shady because of trees, clouds, or both?
Do pardon my use of slang. Malmö’s shadiness comes from, not foliage, but it’s reputation as being a danger city (dangerous by Scandinavian standards).
My favorite is the Owl. I find the monkeys to be rather menacing.
