the All-Encompassing Tree Of Budapest

We have already encountered the stupendous All-Encompassing Tree of Lower Merion, Pennsylvania. A similarly bold, prosperous and hungry Tree grows and envelopes the unexpecting wrought iron fence in Budapest.

What a fabulous marvel of a tree. I feel simultaneously scared by it – the iron-devouring monster – and terribly sorry for it – the suffering victim deformed by inescapable impalement. Extraordinary.
I saw this when in Cambridge Botanical Gardens earlier this year and it just occurred to me that I should perhaps share it here.
I was stumped as to why there was a wall inside the tree.
