the Negligent Observer
It’s been a while. Many apologies.
Of my Paris wish list, I succeeded in visiting one out of three, but saw a-plenty to compensate missing the other two.
Parc des Buttes Chaumont, billed as the ‘Best Park in Paris’ by some blog (never trust those damn bloggers) seems to be a popular hangout for teenagers to drink alco-pops on weekday afternoons. On the other hand, it has brilliant views:
And far better than Bonnier de la Mosson is the Galerie de Paléontologie et d’Anatomie Comparée, which sets an impressive collection of skeletons of all sorts and sizes in a gorgeous 1898 building (designed by Frederic Dutert, for the curious).
There is a bounty of bone photos to be shared, and shared they will be.
I haven’t been to Paris for almost 40 years, but now I want to go back – to visit the Galerie de Paléontologie et d’Anatomie Comparée!
See my comment and the interview with Brian Dettmer for a peice that reminds me of these skeletons.
