The Author was in Kentucky this past weekend–her first time setting foot in a state between Pennsylvania and Colorado (aside from a brief trip to Illinois for Chicago). Her travel within the US of A is shamefully scant. There was much to observe and discover, including this shelter in the Louisville Airport. More to come from the Bluegrass State!

Yup. We used to have tornado drills at Yankee Ridge Elementary School in Urbana Illinois. Went out in the hallway and sat against the wall with our heads between our knees.
